On the afternoon of August 15, 2020, the Seminar on the Legislative and Judicial System Innovation of Hainan Free Trade Port (the “Seminar”), hosted by CIRD-GRANDALL FTP Law Institute (the “Institute”), and supported by China Institute for Reform and Development (“CIRD”) and Grandall Law Firm (“Grandall”), was successfully held.  More than 200 participants, including domestic famous experts and scholars, leaders of the People's Congress Standing Committee of Hainan Province, the Higher People's Court and the Department of Justice of Hainan Province, entrepreneurs, and representatives of CIRD and Grandall, attended the Seminar via online and offline to discuss in depth how to improve the legal and regulatory system for Hainan Free Trade Port through legislation and judicial system innovation, and establish a diversified commercial dispute resolution mechanism that adapts to the international trade rules system.

Mr. LI Yongli (Party Secretary of the Justice Department of Hainan Province), Ms. XIA Junli (Vice President of Hainan Higher People's Court), Mr. LV Hongbing (Member of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Vice President of All China Lawyers Association, and Chief Executive Partner of Grandall), and Professor CHI Fulin (Member of 11^th and 12^th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Director of CIRD) delivered excellent speeches on the judicial innovation practice of Hainan Provincial Department of Justice and the Higher People's Court, the development of the rule of law at the Free Trade Port, and the characteristics of Hainan Free Trade Port Law, etc.

Mr. LI Shuguang (Dean of the Graduate School of China University of Political Science and Law), Mr. GONG Baihua (Director of the Research Center of Shanghai Free Trade Zone Law, Fudan University), Adrian Lai (Des Voeux Chambers, Deputy Secretary General of Asian Institute of International Law), Mr. ZHANG Xiaohui (President of Hainan Lawyers Association), Mr. GUO Da (Director of Hainan Economics Institute), Mr. WU Shicun (Director of National Institute for South China Sea Studies), Mr. WANG Chongmin (Vice President of Hainan University), Mr. SHEN Jianguang (Vice President of JD Group & Chief Economist of JD Digits) and Professor WANG Jiangyu (City University of Hong Kong) gave keynote speeches on the topics of “Innovation on Legislative System of Hainan Free Trade Port” and “Innovation on Judicial System of Hainan Free Trade Port”.
