Recently, Air China Limited (“Air China”) and Rolls-Royce Limited (“Rolls-Royce”) announced the formation of a joint venture company, namely, Beijing Aero Engine Services Company Limited (“BAESL”), engaging in civil aviation engine maintenance in Beijing. Having passed the antitrust review, BAESL is registered in the Beijing Capital International Airport Economic Zone. Grandall Beijing Office has been retained as Air China's legal advisor with Mr. JIN Zhe, Ms. HU Xintian, Ms. FENG Xiaoyi and Ms. PEI Lingyan as key lawyers serving the case.

BAESL is Rolls-Royce's first joint venture maintenance company in Chinese mainland and the fourth in the world. The formation marks a solid step in the cooperation between Air China and Rolls-Royce in the field of after-sales maintenance of civil engines, enriching Air China's maintenance section layout and the scope of engine overhaul capability. Moreover, the cooperation enables Air China maintenance system to provide premium maintenance services with regional advantages for customers.
